Janine Kutylo is a Shareholder with the Boston office of Boyle | Shaughnessy Law where she practices in commercial litigation and disputes, civil rights law, professional liability, products liability, construction litigation, fire and explosion litigation, premises liability, transportation litigation, and liquor liability and dram shop related cases. Janine handles wrongful death litigation, cases involving catastrophic personal injuries and property damage, and cases with exposure well into the millions of dollars.

Janine represents clients in Section 1983, civil rights, and negligence cases involving sexual abuse and excessive force claims.  Janine has extensive experience with claims involving large-scale property losses and serious personal injuries resulting from fires and explosions.  She defends environmental cases including contamination and chemical exposure claims.   She handles professional liability cases including medical and legal, as well as claims against pharmacies, hospitals, and assisted living facilities.  Her civil litigation experience includes defending clients against disputes involving various negligence claims including premises claims, transportation-related accidents, sports equipment claims, and other complex matters.  Janine represents owners, general contractors, and subcontractors in the defense of construction liability actions.  She defends corporations in cases involving allegations of negligent manufacture and design, negligent failure to warn, and strict liability.

Janine has successfully defended clients at trial and in various forms of alternative dispute resolution including arbitrations, mediations, and judicial settlement conferences.

Prior to joining Boyle | Shaughnessy Law, Janine was a Partner at Clausen Miller, P.C., in Chicago, Illinois. She also completed a Judicial Externship with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois.  Janine received her Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law where she was a member of the Loyola National Trial Team.  She received her undergraduate degree in International Studies and Political Science from American University in Washington, D.C.  Prior to attending law school, Janine worked for the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C.  She worked in the office of a U.S. Representative and then for the U.S. House of Representatives International Relations Select Subcommittee on the United States Role in Iranian Arms Transfers to Croatia and Bosnia.

Janine lives in Winchester with her husband and three children.  She is a member of the Board of Directors for Winchester Youth Soccer and Winchester Youth Baseball & Softball.
