Nicholas M. Scaptura

Nicholas M. Scaptura is an Associate in the Boston office of Boyle Shaughnessy law. He practices primarily in the areas of civil litigation and liability defense, with a focus on construction defects and injuries. Prior to joining the firm, Nicholas spent four years at a small Boston law firm focusing on construction litigation. Nicholas represented numerous general contractors and subcontractors in a variety of matters relating to contract disputes, commercial collections, and property damage. These ran the gamut from small claims matters to large scale, multi-millions dollar construction projects in the greater Boston area. During this time Nicholas obtained extensive experience with the Massachusetts Mechanic’s Lien statute, which included drafting and recording liens, litigating lien claims, as well as advising clients on how best to comply with the statutory requirements and purse their lien claims. Nicholas also advised clients on various other matters, including commercial and residential leasing, contract claims and review, and real estate matters. During this time Nicholas also gained valuable courtroom and litigation experience, successfully arguing numerous motions and mediating matters.
Prior to his tenure in construction litigation, Nicholas worked at a large Boston law firm representing Social Security Disability claimants at the hearing level before administrative judges. Nicholas represented claimants throughout the United States, travelling to and appearing with claimants in over 20 states.
Nicholas received his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School. While in law school, Nicholas served as a member of the Suffolk Journal of Trial and Appellate Advocacy.
