Premises Liability – $0 Settlement
Attorney Involved | Timothy R. Scannell
Recently, Boyle | Shaughnessy attorneys Timothy R. Scannell and Michael W. Stenger successfully defended a premises liability case filed in the Stamford Superior Court. The suit arose out of an alleged slip-and-fall which occurred at a popular big-box general merchandise store in downtown Stamford, CT. The Plaintiff alleged to have suffered a permanent injury to her right knee, as well as a loss of pregnancy. Throughout the course of litigation, Attorneys Scannell and Stenger consistently advocated that their client, Kellermeyer Bergensons Services—a third-party housekeeping service—owed no duty to the Plaintiff to remedy the type of transitory water spill alleged to have caused the Plaintiff’s injuries. The Plaintiff withdrew her claims against KBS altogether following several weeks of settlement negotiations.
